Needing a little...

....Pick Me Up

Hi Pinners,

Nobody is in a good mood everyday. Sometimes you can just wake up on the wrong side of the bed. Maybe you feel sick, or fat, or ugly or lazy and just bum status. Well when I feel like that... I look to Pinterest.

Pinterest has a catergory on it called "Quotes" and when you click it...a whole bunch of pins show up. They can motivational quotes for fitness, for life, or to just make you die laughing. This is what your pinterest should look like:

From there you can click on an image and read the post or you can save the image too. I follow certain boards so when I look at my feed I will always have some quotes up there. These are, in my opinion the TOP 5 boards to follow:

And when the days come when I need specific motivation in life, I follow these boards:

BUT sometimes, all it takes is a good laugh. There are so many funny quotes and images on pinterest when you search "funny quotes," but these are the TOP 5 boards I follow to get a good laugh in:

WHEN I FEEL LAZY, and thats like everyday, I read the fitness boards. They tell you that the time is now and that THERE IS NO TOMORROW. It's today. They make you feel pretty damn guilty for eating that doughnut too.

So lastly, I'll show you my favorite quote that I found on Pinterest and leave ya with a SEE YA NEXT TIME.

Long Heel...Red Bottoms.

Hi Pinners!

Hello! This past week has been a busy and entertaining one for me. I went out to dance and just enjoyed the night life!! Oh how wonderful it is to be young. Well okay, so as I was out I heard one of my favorite songs to dance too. "Long Heel, Red Bottoms" by Trina. And of course earlier that day I saw something on Pinterest that I just had to tell you about. If any of you are on a college budget like me, you can not afford to buy heels besides the ones at Charlotte Russe, during happy hour, on Saturdays from 3-6pm. I'm just saying.

So I've posted 5 easy steps to creating your own Red Bottom heels, that will cost you probably nothing since I know you all probably have these materials at home.

Yes, I realized these heel bottoms aren't red, but you can do what ever color you want!

Before you begin:
  •  Grab a pair of your favorite old heels that you never wear anymore because the bottoms look trashed. Than grab some Rubbing Alcohol, a Brush, Nail polish (white prime & whatever color you want), and Nail polish Remover.
  • Prep your shoes by cleaning the soles with rubbing alcohol, this well help the color stick better.

  • Prime your shoes with white nail-polish. You can use the nail polish brush, but I suggest getting one a little bit bigger so it goes faster. Once you paint the sole of each shoe, let them dry (about 10 minutes).

  • Clean your brush between colors using nail polish remover, and start painting the soles the color of your choice. You will probably need two coats, but be sure to let the first coat dry before starting on your second coat.

  •  Let dry for about thirty minutes, just to be safe & you’re done!

And there you have it! Your favorite pair of gorgeous heels are back in action! Also I left a link below for anyone who wants to continue making their old heels into prime time runway status. The first link is to Pinterest and the second is a link to A pair - and - A spare blog. She posts all of these cute ideas to do with your heels. My favorite is the spiked heel look. So check her out!

Oh and here's the video to the song i was talking about... Long Heels, Red bottoms..step, step...

Anyone want a sweater? Or a pillow? How about a Sweater Pillow!

Hi Pinners!

So as I was on Pinterest before (I know, surprising right?) I saw myself looking at pillows.
I don't know why I was looking at them, I just go off on a weird adventure whenever I use Pinterest. For instance, I caught myself two days ago looking at all of these pictures on what to do with peanut butter. Don't ask.

Anyway, back to my pillows. I clicked on this image and it led me to this blog that had a blog post called "The Pinterest Project: Pillow Talkin...again" so obviously I was ecstatic and clicked away. This whole blog post was about how to make a sweater & turn into a pillow. It just seems so comfy! And with fall here and blooming, what a perfect craft idea to do. If you click on the image below it will lead you to these girls amazing blog and all of the cool projects they do, including the Sweater Pillow one.

On Pinterest there are plenty of great people to follow that talk to you about sewing and all the cool crafty things they do. Really just type in "sewing" and see the thousands of pins that come up. Just look my screen shot image below.

However, because I don't really care to much about sewing in itself, I'm just going to stick with the Sweater Pillows.

I know. How cute?

After I did my research and fiddled my way around Pinterest, I came upon these TOP 5 amazing people to follow. Their boards are all filled cute sweater pillows and links to tutorials. Its actually really quick and quite simple to do! (So I heard).

To wrap things up, I really hope you enjoyed my blog post about sweater pillows and the really cool blog I found www.thepinterestproject.com  and OH! if you are interested in any means about everything you can do with peanut butter...click on the image below :)

How to be a Pinner!

 How to be a Pinner:

Hi Pinners!

The steps to becoming an expert Pinner is quite simple. Well, for people who have little to no knowledge on the computer, it's easier than you think. To explain what Pinterest really is, like I said in my last blog, it's an online pinboard. You know like the bulletin boards you have hanging around your house? Have you ever cut out images from a magazine and pinned them to your walls around your room? I know as a teenage girl, that's all I used to do. That is exactly what Pinterest is, just neater, organized, and you don't have to use scissors. It's all online.

1. First Step: Make an Account!

Go to the Pinterest.com website. It's found at: http://www.pinterest.com. If you don't have an account already, click "Request an Invite" on the home page or you can just login with Facebook or Twitter.

 2. Start Following and Pinning!

Once you have your profile page set up, Pinterest will suggest to select a few basic images and people to follow. Click on images or items that catch your interest. Then click on "Follow People." Doing this will get you started on the site. Click away!

3. Creating Your First Pinboards!

You can name your Pinboards what ever you like. You can make them be so specific like the image below were it states where the image is from, what category, sub-category and the actual name of your Pinboard. You can make as many Pinboards as you like.

 4. Keep on Pinning!

Look for more pinboards to follow. If you want, you can search to find pinboards beyond the ones assigned to you. Enter whatever you want into the search bar at the top of the page and press enter. Then, click on "boards" at the top of the page. When you find one that you like, click Follow.

For example, I chose boots. Well its fall now, so boots.

5. REPIN!

If you find a pin on a user's board that you like, you can repin it to your board.
  • Roll over the image and click "repin."
  •  Choose whether you'd like to add the pin to an existing board or create a new one.
  •  Write a description and click Pin It!

6. Like it.

If you like it, the image I mean, just click "Like" and it won't be repined to one of your boards, but it will be tagged in the images you "liked." I told you this was simple.

To view your liked pins, go to your profile by clicking on your name in the upper right corner. Then, click "Likes" at the top of your profile.

So there you have it, the basic let's get started know-hows. Pinterest is fun and simple. I can not wait to explore this pinning world with you! Oh and one last thing, if by any chance you guys are "over-pinachievers" (get it? over-achievers?) you guys can click here to Grovo that has another amazing VIDEO tutorials on how to use Pinterest.

Bye Pinners!

Welcome Pinners

Hi Pinners.

To introduce myself, my name is Kayde and I pin, a lot. This blog will be all about the social media phenomenon of Pinterest. Okay, so if you don't know what Pinterest is...where have you been? No, like really though. Its a virtual Pin board. It lets you organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web! People use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate homes, stay motivated in health and fitness, and find other people who like their strange and quirky addicting hobbies, like crafting. The best thing about Pinterest is that you can browse pinboards created by other people! You discover all of these great new things and get inspiration from people all around the world who share your own interest.

I know, it's fascinating.

Each blog that I post will cover a new topic of interest. Whether its cool recipes that people post about or recommendations of people to follow that I feel my readers show know about and love. Its going to be a blast. There's just so many things to show you all! I will teach you all the ropes so you will know the ins and outs of the pinning world.

So im sure your all wondering why I decided to write a blog about, well, me "pinning" and why I love it so much...so here's the scoop. On average, every week, I spend approximately 17 hours a week on Pinterest. That about 3 hours a day, looking at pictures and reading the articles underneath them. Thats like a part-time job, I know, crazy. So like the smart little thinker I am, when I had to pick a topic to blog about that would be pretty time consuming, I chose to pick something that I already spend 17 hours a week doing. Perfect. And that's that.

My time here is done, I can't wait help and show you the Pinning world that I love so very much. This is going to be great.

Bye Pinners.
