Anyone want a sweater? Or a pillow? How about a Sweater Pillow!

Hi Pinners!

So as I was on Pinterest before (I know, surprising right?) I saw myself looking at pillows.
I don't know why I was looking at them, I just go off on a weird adventure whenever I use Pinterest. For instance, I caught myself two days ago looking at all of these pictures on what to do with peanut butter. Don't ask.

Anyway, back to my pillows. I clicked on this image and it led me to this blog that had a blog post called "The Pinterest Project: Pillow Talkin...again" so obviously I was ecstatic and clicked away. This whole blog post was about how to make a sweater & turn into a pillow. It just seems so comfy! And with fall here and blooming, what a perfect craft idea to do. If you click on the image below it will lead you to these girls amazing blog and all of the cool projects they do, including the Sweater Pillow one.

On Pinterest there are plenty of great people to follow that talk to you about sewing and all the cool crafty things they do. Really just type in "sewing" and see the thousands of pins that come up. Just look my screen shot image below.

However, because I don't really care to much about sewing in itself, I'm just going to stick with the Sweater Pillows.

I know. How cute?

After I did my research and fiddled my way around Pinterest, I came upon these TOP 5 amazing people to follow. Their boards are all filled cute sweater pillows and links to tutorials. Its actually really quick and quite simple to do! (So I heard).

To wrap things up, I really hope you enjoyed my blog post about sweater pillows and the really cool blog I found www.thepinterestproject.com  and OH! if you are interested in any means about everything you can do with peanut butter...click on the image below :)

How to be a Pinner!

 How to be a Pinner:

Hi Pinners!

The steps to becoming an expert Pinner is quite simple. Well, for people who have little to no knowledge on the computer, it's easier than you think. To explain what Pinterest really is, like I said in my last blog, it's an online pinboard. You know like the bulletin boards you have hanging around your house? Have you ever cut out images from a magazine and pinned them to your walls around your room? I know as a teenage girl, that's all I used to do. That is exactly what Pinterest is, just neater, organized, and you don't have to use scissors. It's all online.

1. First Step: Make an Account!

Go to the Pinterest.com website. It's found at: http://www.pinterest.com. If you don't have an account already, click "Request an Invite" on the home page or you can just login with Facebook or Twitter.

 2. Start Following and Pinning!

Once you have your profile page set up, Pinterest will suggest to select a few basic images and people to follow. Click on images or items that catch your interest. Then click on "Follow People." Doing this will get you started on the site. Click away!

3. Creating Your First Pinboards!

You can name your Pinboards what ever you like. You can make them be so specific like the image below were it states where the image is from, what category, sub-category and the actual name of your Pinboard. You can make as many Pinboards as you like.

 4. Keep on Pinning!

Look for more pinboards to follow. If you want, you can search to find pinboards beyond the ones assigned to you. Enter whatever you want into the search bar at the top of the page and press enter. Then, click on "boards" at the top of the page. When you find one that you like, click Follow.

For example, I chose boots. Well its fall now, so boots.

5. REPIN!

If you find a pin on a user's board that you like, you can repin it to your board.
  • Roll over the image and click "repin."
  •  Choose whether you'd like to add the pin to an existing board or create a new one.
  •  Write a description and click Pin It!

6. Like it.

If you like it, the image I mean, just click "Like" and it won't be repined to one of your boards, but it will be tagged in the images you "liked." I told you this was simple.

To view your liked pins, go to your profile by clicking on your name in the upper right corner. Then, click "Likes" at the top of your profile.

So there you have it, the basic let's get started know-hows. Pinterest is fun and simple. I can not wait to explore this pinning world with you! Oh and one last thing, if by any chance you guys are "over-pinachievers" (get it? over-achievers?) you guys can click here to Grovo that has another amazing VIDEO tutorials on how to use Pinterest.

Bye Pinners!

Welcome Pinners

Hi Pinners.

To introduce myself, my name is Kayde and I pin, a lot. This blog will be all about the social media phenomenon of Pinterest. Okay, so if you don't know what Pinterest is...where have you been? No, like really though. Its a virtual Pin board. It lets you organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web! People use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate homes, stay motivated in health and fitness, and find other people who like their strange and quirky addicting hobbies, like crafting. The best thing about Pinterest is that you can browse pinboards created by other people! You discover all of these great new things and get inspiration from people all around the world who share your own interest.

I know, it's fascinating.

Each blog that I post will cover a new topic of interest. Whether its cool recipes that people post about or recommendations of people to follow that I feel my readers show know about and love. Its going to be a blast. There's just so many things to show you all! I will teach you all the ropes so you will know the ins and outs of the pinning world.

So im sure your all wondering why I decided to write a blog about, well, me "pinning" and why I love it so much...so here's the scoop. On average, every week, I spend approximately 17 hours a week on Pinterest. That about 3 hours a day, looking at pictures and reading the articles underneath them. Thats like a part-time job, I know, crazy. So like the smart little thinker I am, when I had to pick a topic to blog about that would be pretty time consuming, I chose to pick something that I already spend 17 hours a week doing. Perfect. And that's that.

My time here is done, I can't wait help and show you the Pinning world that I love so very much. This is going to be great.

Bye Pinners.
