Keep it tight during the holidays!

Hi Pinners!!

When looking on Pinterest, there are millions of healthy options to cook instead of the classic pounds of butter cookies and pies that would add 5lbs to my thighs with just one bite.

Here just type in "Healthy Holiday Foods" and screen would look like this!

There are so many tasty little treats that are so easy to make and very healthy for you. Pinterest will show you hundreds.

By far my favorite little holiday treat that I saw on Pinterest are these 80 calories Chocolate Coconut Snowballs!

So enjoy and don't loosen that belt! Keep it tight Pinners! Enjoy the healthier things.

Keep it Spiked ladies ;)

Hi Pinners!

Who loves heels? Better yet, who loves when you can take your old heels and make them look stylish and new again? I know, everybody (sorry men). Spikes are in ladies and they are ALL over Pinterest. Spike Bracelets, Spike Necklaces, Spike bags and my favorite, SPIKE HEELS!! But, heres the downfall...If you go to a store and try to buy these spiked heels, your wallet would shed a tear. So as I was Pinning away one day I saw this DYI Spike Heels and fell in love! Heres the tutorial!

You need
- 6 cone spikes (local craft store)
- A pair of leather/ suede heels
Dart Awl hole making tool (makes life way easier!)
- A screwdriver

How to
1. Look at the seam at the back of your heels and mark with pencil where you want the spikes to sit. You want the spikes to sit apart so that there isn't too much strain on the seam.

2. Using your hole making tool, push through the seam and wiggle to create a hole.

3. Push the screw through the hole, using a screwdriver to twist if it is difficult to get through.

4. Attach your spikes to the screw by twisting.

5. Use the screwdriver to tightly screw the studs on. Make sure the screws are flush with the leather so your the back of your heels don't get irritated.

And there you have it. Done. Simple. GORGEOUS.

Snowflakes of Glue...

Hi Pinners!

Its the holiday season, so for all your little crafting needs GET ON PINTEREST! This post is for the non-crafty just throw glitter on glue kind of people. I was looking in the DYI Crafts section on Pinterest and there are millions of fun things to do. Myself being a poor college student can not afford to go out and buy 14 dollar ornaments and reefs just to decorate so I rather use things I already have and well, make things glittery!

I saw this great idea for ornament decorations and it was just a simple ornament made out of hot glue! Now if your like me, hot glue is probably the one thing you hate to use when crafting (it gets all sticky and messy and I burn my fingers), but for this one simple craft, it really wasn't that bad.

Supplies You Will Need:
  • Glue Sticks

  • Hot Glue Gun

  • Wax Paper

  • Dish Detergent

  • Ornament Template

  • Glitter (My FAVORITE supply!)

  • Mod Podge

  • Small Paint Brush

  • String or Wire
 Step One:

Google an image you would like to use for your ornament. An image with simple lines that all connect works best. I googled snowflake images and found a nice one to use. Print your image the size you want your ornament to be. (Make sure you don't print a tiny image because you will end up with a blob of hot glue that will look nothing like an ornament.) Get your glue gun, glue sticks, and wax paper ready.

Step Two:

Place a sheet of wax paper over your ornament template. Cover the wax paper with dish detergent. Mix a little water with the detergent to make it spread easily. Then simply trace your image with hot glue. I have found that using a continuous stream of glue with even pressure for each line works best. This is what it will look like when finished.

Step Three:

When the ornament is dry, peel it from the wax paper. If some of the paper sticks to the back, just run the ornament under cold water and peel off the excess paper. This will make the ornament really firm and help get rid of the excess dish detergent. If there are any weak places in the ornament, you can always cover those spots with more glue. I had to do this for my ornament, and that made me decided to make it look more 3D with an extra layer of glue in different spots. Just be sure to let the second layer of glue dry completely before moving your ornament.

Step Four:

Gather your glitter, Mod Podge, and paint brush.

Cover that baby up with a layer of Mod Podge.

COVER WITH GLITTER

Step Five:

This is the final step! Add a hanger to your ornament. I did this by making a loop from some jewelry wire I had sitting around the apartment. You could use string also. Just hot glue a loop of wire or string to the back of your ornament. Once again, make sure the glue is complete dry before moving your ornament.

With the hanger applied, it's time to admire your hot glue ornament. Here's my finished snowflake.

And there you have it, an easy beautiful christmas snowflake ornament. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas!

A Pinners Knowledge.

Hi Pinners,

During the past couple of days I have been doing some statistical research about Pinterest, so I apologize if this isn't the most entertaining blog post I do. Pinterest has been exploding over the internet the past two years and it is on a non stop train ride to the top of the internet world. According to www.brandignity.com  here are some fun facts about Pinterest:

1. The iPhone App is downloaded 200,000 times per/day!
2. 2.3 billion users view Pinterest in just one month!
3. Over 4 million DAILY users!

Now if that doesn't say something, I'm sure that these charts will!

Also, a report was written in August 2012 by Pingdom about the social network demographics throughout the year. You can find the complete article below. As you explore, notice where Pinterest stands AND the ages of people using it. It wasn't what I expected for sure.

According to this chart, 63% of Pinterest users are 35 or older! Isn't that outstanding? I would absolutely think that the 25 and younger people would be tearing up the Pinterest stream, but no! It's the older crowds taking control!

Oh and just in case you were curious, the average age for Facebook is 40.5 years old! What?? Look at the older generation being up on their technology. Even Pinterest, the average age is 40.1! That totally caught me off guard.

And I wasn't going to get into this, but I feel I must mention this...THE MOST
FEMALE-DOMINATED SITE IN THE WORLD..... IS PINTEREST!!

I know, give it up ladies. We got the best site.

So that is my little Pinners Knowledge. If you have any questions or want some more stats just leave a comment below.

Keep Pinning!

Lets hear it for the boys...SPORTS

Hi Pinners!

This post, is for the BOYS. A fellow blogger of mine, A_Lying_Fisherman asked me a very good question on my previous post, Scarf Season!. He asked "I am curious if there are any dedicated to sportsmen or the likes there of?" Well to answer your question, YES! Pinterest has loads of sports boards to follow and plenty of posts to read and "repin."

Every time you hit the refresh button on your screen, Pinterest always have something new to show you. When you search "sports news" in the search engine, all of the latest articles about athletes, game results, who's fired and who's being hired all show up. Huge sports-news websites, such as thepostgame.com, sports.yahoo.com and espn.com all use Pinterest to put up their latest articles.

For example, I searched "NFL" since I'm a huge Giants fan and this Pin of the image below came up and I clicked on it and it lead me directly to NFL's website where from there I can read the articles how the Giants kicked San Francisco's ass on Sunday. I'm just saying.

Any thing you want,s Pinterest ha it. Its search engine is kind of like Google and Bing but instead of boring links, it has pictures related to whatever your searching for.

I love it and you will too :)

Check it out. www.pinterest.com

Scarf Season!

Hi Pinners!

Its Fall.

Just in case you didn't notice and live in a place that is always hot, like I do now. But I am from New York and in my honest opinion, the best season is Fall. Its beautiful. The leaves are changing and the breeze is nice in cool...but most importantly, its SCARF SEASON!!!!

I absolutely love scarfs. As I was pinning my way through Pinterest, all of these DYI Scarf post kept appearing. I felt like a kid in a candy shop. A certain picture that really stood out to me was the T-SHIRT SCARF!

It will take you about an hour from start to finish, but that's with bathroom breaks and eating a sandwich :)
All you will need is a shirt & fabric scissors.

First off, take any t-shirt (well one you don't want to wear anymore) and lay it out nice and flat.

Okay, so once you laid out your shirt, cut the bottom hem off so it becomes a straight line. Some shirts are longer in the back than in the front, so just make it even.

Next, cut 1 inch strips of the shirt all the way up to about the sleeves. It doesn't need to be perfect, its okay if its a little choppy.

I got 17 strips of my shirt, it doesn't matter if you get more or less. It only depends on how wide your strips are.

Now you need to tug the strips and try to make them all the same length. You don't need to be gentle, they are pretty hard to rip (even if your the hulk). Now I have 17 loops.

Because I had a shirt with seams, I wanted to hid them underneath the wrapping...you don't have too do this :)

Now gather up all of your loops except one. So with the 17th loop, cut it in half so it can be used as the wrapping one. I tucked the strip into the loops and then started wrapping tightly and very neatly to cover the seams. At the end of the wrapping, I did some kind of knot that I don't know what its called to tie it off. Get creative. Then I used the other half of the strip to do the other side.

And there ya go! Nice and simple, cute and unique! You can also cut up two different color shirts or maybe even shirts with patterns. Anything works and either way it looks great. Its okay if it isn't perfect...

Perfection is boring.
